International 3A and 3B aerial work platforms licence
IPAF trainings and courses for cherry pickers– aerial work platforms- allow you to obtain international qualifications.
Working at height causes many potential risks. One of the main ones is a fall from a height, which can result in serious injury or death. The reason of the fall may be a mechanical failure or improper use of the device. The best way to minimize the risk of an accident is to undergo professional training in the use of lifting devices, e.g. a course for cherrypickers.
Completing the IPAF aerial platforms course at our training center will make you more aware of these risks and how to prevent them or minimize risks to yourself and others. You will also become a professional lifting platform`s operator. The IPAF cherrypicker course is a different type of training that differs from the UDT course on aerial work platforms.
The IPAF (International Powered Access Federation) card is accepted and recognized as proof of training of the MEWP (mobile elevating work platform) operator worldwide.

Aerial work platforms – IPAF course
Cherry picker is the name of the devices, which refers to any type of aerial work platform. We divide them into categories:
- Cat. 3a – refers to mobile vertical machines, generally called scissor lifts.
- Cat. 3b – refers to machinery with a movable jib, which are self-propelled booms, articulated or telescopic booms which can move at a certain height.
Scissor cherry picker – is an aerial work platform whose task is to steadily and safely take people and their equipment to strictly defined places and tasks on the height. Scissor lift is most often used in the finishing or installation industry. To become a scissor lift operator, you must complete a course for operator category 3a.
Telescopic cherry picker – is a basket aerial work platform belonging to the group of devices so-called Hoogwerkers. Its task is to lift people with tools to hard-to-reach places. Often the places where the jib needs to reach are above obstacles such as ditches, low buildings, canals or vehicles. Telescopic lift is a very versatile lift, thanks to which it enjoys great interest, especially among companies that perform external work. To become a telescopic platform operator, you must complete a course for operator category 3b.
You can take the course in both categories, separately or together, at the Bonapi Training Center!
The best solutions is to do a course in these two categories at the same time, thanks to which our skills will be more competitive on the labor market.
The qualifications are valid for 5 years and before this date you must take a refresher course and pass the exam.
Since June 2021, according to Dutch regulations, the IPAF qualifications (cat. 1B, 3A and 3B) have been recognized as equal to the SOG ratings for aerial work platforms (cat. 1B, 3A and 3B). (https://www.ssvv.nl/application/files/3216/9322/6148/Overzicht_met_vrijstellingen_SOG_maart_2023.pdf)
