The Basic VCA online course in English is a convenient solution for individuals who want to gain essential knowledge in occupational health and safety for an international work environment. It covers topics such as risk assessment, accident prevention, and safety management systems. The course content is identical to that of classroom-based training—the only difference is the delivery format.
The training is entirely online, allowing you to study anytime and anywhere without having to take time off work or travel to a training location.

Bonapi offers the Basic VCA online course for individuals who need a flexible learning option. This course is ideal for:
Workers with variable work schedules
People currently living outside the Netherlands
Students who prefer to study at their own pace
If the online test is passed, the theoretical part is considered completed, and the participant proceeds directly to the practical part.
We reserve the right to reverify the participant’s knowledge through questions asked during the practical session or by requesting a retest to ensure the online test was completed based on the participant’s own knowledge.
The €165.00 fee includes:

Participation in the in-person exam

The course covers the following key areas:
Introduction to VCA – history and objectives
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Dutch labour law regulations
Workplace hygiene, safety, and risk assessment
Unsafe behaviour and accident analysis
Working with electrical systems – hazard identification
Hazardous substances – effects on humans and the environment
Fire safety principles and firefighting techniques
Safe use of machinery and equipment
Working with forklifts
Operating cranes and aerial lifts
Working at heights – scaffolding, ladders, and work platforms
Use of hand and power tools
Working in confined spaces and permit systems
Evacuation procedures
Labour inspection audits and controls
Although the course is delivered online (or as part of a hybrid option), the final exam is held in person.

To enrol in the course and sit the exam, you must:
Be at least 18 years old
Hold a valid ID (identity card or passport)
Note: A driver’s licence is not accepted as valid identification for the exam.

Is the online course different from the classroom version?
No – the course content, certification, and exam structure are identical.
Can I enrol in the course if I’m outside the Netherlands?
Yes – the entire course is online. You only need to travel to the Netherlands for the exam.
What language is the course delivered in?
This version of the course is conducted entirely in English.
How long do I have access to the online materials?
Access is granted for a defined period to allow sufficient time to prepare for the exam—details are provided after registration.
Will I receive a certificate at the end?
Yes – after passing the exam, you’ll receive a digital Basic VCA certificate, which is recognised throughout the Netherlands and the EU.
