What is a VCA certificate and how do I obtain one?
When working on a building site or in a factory in the Netherlands, Belgium or Germany, you may be required to show a VCA certificate. VCA certificates are also recognised in Scandinavia, Austria or Switzerland. In many places, having a VCA is a requirement for starting work.
The acronym VCA (from Veiligheid, Gezondheid en Milieu Checklist Aannemers) can be translated as Safety, Health and Environment Checklist for Entrepreneurs.
To obtain the Basic VCA, VOL VCA and VIL VCU certificates, you must pass an examination. To prepare for this, it is best to enrol in a Course at one of the training centers. VCA courses are also available online.

FAQ
The VCA training lasts one day. It starts around 8:00 a.m. and lasts until about 2:30 p.m. At 3:00 p.m., the VCA exam begins, for which the candidate has 75 minutes. Start and end times may be different depending on the day.
VCA Basis trainings and exams are conducted in many languages. VCA VOL trainings and exams are conducted only in English, Dutch, French and German.

The entry in the register is visible on the first working day after the exam.

Trial tests
Unfortunately, VCA VOL exams are only available in English, Dutch, French and German. It is not possible to pass the VCA VOL exam in any other language. VCA VOL trainings are also conducted only in the languages mentioned above. If a candidate does not want to take the VCA VOL exam, it is worth considering participating in the SCC 017 training and exam, which is the German equivalent of the Dutch VCA VOL. The SCC 017 exam can be held in many other languages.
The VCA training can take place online, while the VCA exam takes place at our training center in Spijkenisse. It is not possible to take the exam online.
You can pay for the training by bank transfer based on the invoice, as well as at the training site in cash (it is not possible to pay by card). Payment must be made prior to the start of the training.
VCA certificates are sent to candidates on the first working day after the exam. This is also when the candidates are registered in the CDR system. On the day of the exam, candidates receive a confirmation of taking the VCA exam along with the result obtained and the certificate number. The confirmation and the certificate are sent only in digital form.
Our training center boasts a high pass rate among its students. In the case of the VCA VOL exam, the result largely depends on the level of language skills of the candidates.
The VCA Basis exam consists of 40 questions. The VCA VOL exam consists of 70 questions. To pass the exam, the candidate must obtain a minimum of 65% correct answers.
