Harness and lifeline inspections

The inspection should be carried out before the expiry date shown on the documentation confirming that the equipment is fit for use. In practice, under applicable rules, an inspection must be performed at least once a year, and after any incident that may have affected the condition of the equipment it should be done without delay. Regardless of periodic inspections, the user should also assess the condition of the equipment before each use.

We most often inspect harnesses, safety belts, lines, and other fall protection equipment. Depending on your company’s needs, we can also include additional system components such as connectors or pulleys, as long as they are part of the equipment used in your work.

During the inspection we check the condition of webbing, stitching, buckles, carabiners, absorbers, and other system components. We assess wear, completeness, legibility of markings, and whether an item can continue to be used safely. After the inspection the equipment is labelled and your company receives a clear report of the work carried out.

Equipment submitted for inspection should be clean and prepared so that its technical condition can be assessed reliably. Only then can damage and material wear be checked properly, and an item cleared for continued use or identified for withdrawal from service.

We can carry out the inspection at our premises in Spijkenisse - you can deliver the equipment in person or send it by courier. For larger quantities we can also perform the inspection at your site. If needed, we agree a convenient time, including weekend inspections.

The cost depends on the number of items and how the work is billed. We can price this type of inspection per item or based on the time required. As a guide, inspection of a single item starts from around €24-26 per piece and a set from around €36. We provide a final quote once we know the full scope of the job.
