IPAF 3A – Online + On-site Training for Scissor Lifts
IPAF 3A online + on-site training prepares you for the safe operation of scissor lifts and obtaining the internationally recognised IPAF licence.

The IPAF 3A online + on-site training is designed for participants who want the flexibility of remote learning combined with practical preparation for operating scissor lifts.
During the course, you will learn about working at height regulations, operator responsibilities and safety procedures. The practical session takes place at our training centre under the supervision of an experienced instructor.

The online theoretical part is completed individually at your own pace.The practical session and final assessment take place on a scheduled training day at our training centre.
Candidates participating in the course must be at least 18 years old and hold a valid form of identification.
Due to the nature of the training, participants should wear clothing suitable for the weather conditions and bring the required personal protective equipment, including:
- safety footwear,
- a safety helmet,
- a hi-vis vest or hi-vis jacket,
- a safety harness with a lanyard and a valid inspection certificate.
Participants who do not have their own safety helmet, hi-vis vest, or safety harness with a lanyard may rent the required equipment from our training centre for the duration of the course, in accordance with the current price list.
Candidates must be physically and mentally fit to participate safely and effectively in the training and to operate this type of machinery. Individuals whose health condition, missing limb, or limited limb mobility prevents them from safely completing the practical exercises cannot participate in the course.
The training is available in English and other language versions according to the schedule.

The assessment consists of a theoretical and a practical part. Successful completion of both parts is required to obtain the IPAF licence.

Frequently Asked Questions
Yes. Completion of the online module is required before attending the on-site practical training. This ensures that you arrive prepared and can focus on hands-on skills and safe operation during the practical part of the course.
Yes. After successfully passing both parts of the assessment, you will receive the IPAF PAL Card (Powered Access Licence), which is internationally recognised and confirms your qualification to operate scissor lifts in category 3A.
The IPAF licence is valid for 5 years. After this period, it must be renewed by completing refresher training and passing a new assessment.
No previous experience is required. However, basic familiarity with construction or industrial environments may help you better understand the practical aspects of the training.
