The VOL VCA course is intended for foremen, supervisors, team leaders, and managers overseeing employees on construction sites and in industrial workplaces in the Netherlands.
The training prepares participants for the official VOL VCA exam and provides essential knowledge for managing teams safely in high-risk work environments.
The course program includes topics such as:
- Dutch health and safety regulations
- Supervisor’s responsibility for workplace safety
- Hazard identification and risk assessment
- Organizing safe work practices
- Personal protective equipment (PPE)
- High-risk activities
- Emergency procedures
- Communication and employee instruction
The training lasts 1 day.
The exam takes place on the same day and lasts 60 minutes.

- A driving licence is not accepted as valid identification
The VOL VCA exam is only available in English, Dutch, French, or German.

To pass the exam, candidates must achieve at least 65% correct answers.
After passing, the participant receives a certificate valid for 10 years.

Yes. After successfully passing the exam, the candidate is registered in the official CDR system. The registration becomes visible on the first working day after the exam.
The exam consists of 60 multiple-choice questions. A minimum score of 65% is required to pass.
The certificate is valid for 10 years.
Candidates who already have sufficient knowledge may register directly for the exam. However, the course is recommended as preparation.
