First and foremost, you must hold a VCA certificate, which is the equivalent of Polish health and safety training. Forklift operators, aerial work platform operators and scaffolders are professions where pay is high. Firstly, courses in the Netherlands are cheaper. Despite covering the same material and having the same exam format, both the training and the exam in Poland cost more. The same applies to resit exams. For example, during the VCA exam, the presence of an examiner accredited by the Dutch organisation SSVV (Stichting Samenwerken voor Veiligheid, or the Association for Safety Cooperation) is required. Their travel to countries such as Poland increases the cost of courses in that location.

Secondly, you need to be wary of fake certificates, which are rife on the internet. Below is a list compiled by the SSVV of companies that issue counterfeit documents in Poland. What’s more, the Netherlands does not recognise Polish certificates (e.g. VCA or forklift certificates), only Dutch ones. So even if you obtain such documents in Poland, you will need to obtain them again in the Netherlands.
